In 2006, I started a private teaching business together with my wife. The company, Ovient English, trains business professionals in Silicon Valley who are nonnative English speakers to communicate more effectively. The business was profitable immediately, and we have been full-time, self-employed teachers ever since. We have found an exciting - perhaps even recession-proof - business opportunity. Now we want to share what we have learned with you.
I sincerely believe that business is an overlooked opportunity for teachers and that teachers are good for business.
